Job Summary
The programming assistant collaborates with the full-time Scholarly Teaching staff at the Center for Integrated Professional Development in their mission to support evidence-informed instruction on campus. This role is an opportunity for graduate students to explore the field of educational development by gaining hands-on experience performing directed research into teaching and consultations with graduate teaching assistants.
The responsibilities of the program assistant will include (but not be limited to) the following:
1. Collaborate with full-time Center staff on the design and implementation of professional development events and programs for Illinois State University faculty, including New Faculty Orientation and the University Teaching and Learning Symposium.
2. Collaborate with full-time Center staff on the design, implementation, and facilitation of professional development events and programs for graduate teaching assistants at Illinois State University, including the Future Faculty Learning Community and Course Design for Future Faculty.
3. Conduct research on various teaching-related issues and develop artifacts to disseminate findings under the guidance of Scholarly Teaching staff (e.g., white paper, annotated bibliography, web content, videos, etc.)
4. Consult with graduate teaching assistants on issues related to teaching and learning and provide pedagogical support, including Small Group Instructional Diagnoses (Midterm Chats).
5. Engage in projects related to evidence-informed pedagogy with Scholarly Teaching staff.
6. Other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate
$21.50/hour
Required Qualifications
1. Must be a degree-seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in English, Communication, Education Admin and Foundations, Teaching and Learning, or Psychology
2. Teaching experience or other experiences working with college-age or adult learners
Preferred Qualifications
1. Graduate student who is seeking a terminal degree.
2. College-level teaching experience as instructor of record.
Work Hours
Hours will be arranged with our assistant directors within Monday to Friday and 8:00am to 4:30pm

Must be able to complete the following with or without reasonable accommodations:
