Job Summary
Graduate Assistants in University College, Retention Services, support and execute the programs, services, and outreach efforts of University College, Retention Services. These programs include:
a. Project Success, an intervention program for students on academic probation
b. Redbird Reboot, an intervention for students with Early Alert Grades indicating academic struggles
c. Project Rebound, weekly group meetings for students on continued academic probation
d. Targeted calls and outreach efforts to students who might benefit from support
e. Assisting with Academic Records submitted to the Redbird Care Team. This includes follow-up with students, assisting and following up with reports to the academic advisors and documentation/tracking of efforts
f. Returning Redbirds, conducting outreach and providing assistance to former Illinois State students who left the University without completing a degree.
Additional Information
Additional responsibilities may include: assistance with the Impact Award and participation in the Reinstatement Committee review process. This position may also complete benchmarking research on academic policies, programs, and supports offered elsewhere. Graduate Assistants may also assist in the preparation of the University College assessment plan. In executing the duties of this position, the Graduate Assistant supports the goals and objectives of University College.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$1,510 per month

2. Must be a degree seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in the following programs:
1. College Student Personnel Administration
2. Communication
3. Psychology
4. Social Work
5. Sociology
Work Hours
20 hours per week with some evenings and weekends required

You must be eligible for employment in the United States and at Illinois State University and/or for the number of hours required for the position.
Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment for all positions held. International students are restricted by their visa status to no more than 20 hours per week of on-campus employment when the university is in session but may work up to 28 hours per week when the university is not in session. Please contact the Office of International Student and Scholar Services for guidance on visa restrictions on work hours. The University cannot grant exceptions to visa status rules/laws.
