Job Summary
The Student Technology Specialist role will be primarily working to provide first level technology support and assistance by phone, over email, and in person directly to the College of Engineering (CEG). This support is related, but not limited to, university-owned computers and software and ULID account and password issues, along with support of endpoint technologies utilized by College of Engineering faculty and staff, including desktop and laptop computers, tablets, classroom and conference room devices, smartphones, printers, e-mail and calendaring, and line-of-business applications.
Individuals in this position are required to be flexible, self-driven, and willing to work in a team environment. Student Technology Specialist will need strong written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail for this position. Students in this position will need the ability to quickly learn new skills, effectively collaborate with a team, manage multiple tasks, provide great customer service, create insightful and concise documentation, and lift up to 40 lbs.
The CEG IT Team is located at Campus East (1709 General Electric Road in Bloomington) and students are expected to report to this location for work.

Pay Rate
$15.50/hour
Required Qualifications
- Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours a week
- Must be able to work minimum of 2 semesters
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Must be available to report to ISU Campus East Location. (1709 General Electric Road in Bloomington, IL)
Preferred Qualifications
1. Strong research skills
2. Strong organizational skills
3. Experience or interest in any of the following:
a. Microsoft Windows
b. MacOS, iPadOS, iOS, tvOS
c. Testing and validation concepts
d. Microsoft Office Apps
e. Microsoft Visio and Power Apps (PowerBi)
f. Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Configuration Manager
g. Relational databases, specifically MySQL, Microsoft SQL, and Oracle
h. Scripting/Programming languages such as PowerShell
i. Data Analysis, Data Profiling, Conceptual and Logical Data Modeling, Source Target Mapping or Data Quality Design
j. Development and support of a BI or Data Warehousing initiative
k. Network, AV, and data center hardware
4. Basic knowledge of HTML and website navigation hierarchies
5. Basic understanding of web and mobile technologies
Work Hours
15-28 hours per week. 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
