Job Summary

The Service Area Coordinator (SAC) provides leadership and administration for student workers within an area of campus housing. In conjunction with the Residence Hall Coordinators and Area Coordinators, the SAC assists with supervising and maintaining a comprehensive, inclusive residential living program for students and a developmental program for paraprofessional staff and student leaders. The SAC provides administrative leadership for developing a living-learning community/residential area. The SAC is responsible for the daily administration of the residence hall facilities, operations, and programs, has an opportunity to serve on one University Housing Services Professional Staff Standing Committee, and assists in projects designed to enhance the quality of student life for residence hall students. The SAC will strive to create a residential environment conducive to living and learning.

This is a 12-month, full-time, live-in position with an annually renewable contract for a maximum of five (5) years.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$3,657/monthly

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree (US equivalent)
2. Travel between residential buildings and respond to critical incidents within 10 minutes.
3. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

1. At least two years of part-time administrative experience at the time of hire.
2. Ability to provide effective supervision of service area employees.
3. Strong Administrative and organizational skills; competent computer and Microsoft Office skills.
4. Strong work ethic.
5. Strong problem-solving skills.
6. Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
7. Provide student-centered and customer service-oriented response to individuals and community.
8. Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as active listening skills.
9. Flexibility and adaptability in shifting from one task to another.

Work Hours

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with some evenings and weekends required. This position serves in an on-call rotation responding to crisis.

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
2. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work .
3. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.

Live-in accommodations are provided to support job responsibilities and may change as needed. Apartments are two-bedroom units with occupancy limits established by Environmental Health and Safety.
