Job Summary

This position supports the guidance and education of graduate students in Audiology, providing diagnosis and treatment across the scope of practice (i.e., hearing aid selection, fitting, and maintenance, vestibular function, aural rehabilitation). He/she provides direct supervision, instruction, and evaluation of student skills and competencies, participates in the implementation of curriculum delivery as needed, and contributes to all other department functions through participation on Committees.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$72,000 - $85,000 annual salary

Required Qualifications

1. Doctor of Audiology degree
2. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
3. Illinois License in Audiology
4. Ability to provide effective counseling and education to patients, families, caregivers, and significant others
5. Ability to supervise, evaluate, and support student clinicians to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with professional standards
6. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative academic and clinical team environment

Preferred Qualifications

1. Clinical experience across the lifespan, including pediatric audiology services
2. Experience with amplification technologies, including hearing aid selection, fitting, programming, verification, and patient counseling
3. Knowledge and experience with auditory processing disorder (APD) evaluation and management
4. Experience with vestibular and balance assessment, including interpretation of diagnostic findings and patient counseling.

Work Hours

Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods
2. Move about in various locations on and off campus as needed to complete day-to-day work
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis
