Job Summary

The Department of Psychology as a part of the College of Arts and Sciences at Illinois State University in Normal, IL (https://psychology.illinoisstate.edu) invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track position in Quantitative Psychology at the level of Assistant Professor. Successful candidates are expected to conduct and publish scholarly research (area of research open), effectively teach courses at all levels for undergraduate and graduate students (typically three classes per semester), supervise research projects by both graduate and undergraduate students in their area of specialization (including theses and/or dissertations), and perform university service.

The Department of Psychology has built a strong reputation for scholarly work in the fields of School Psychology, Clinical-Counseling Psychology, Cognitive and Experimental Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Quantitative Psychology. Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$72,828-$89,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience

Required Qualifications

A Ph.D. (or other terminal degree) in Psychology or related field with demonstrated expertise in Quantitative Psychology (such as Psychometrics, Educational Research Methods, Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning) is required; however, A.B.D. candidates will also be considered with an expected completion of their doctoral degree before August 16, 2027.

State law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
