Job Summary

The Department of Marketing in the College of Business at Illinois State University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 16, 2027.

We seek highly qualified and motivated candidates from any area of marketing to teach Marketing Strategy and Sales courses, as well as other courses to support the department as needed.

The Marketing Department is within the College of Business, which has undergraduate and graduate programs accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The department offers a marketing degree with sequences in General Marketing, Professional Sales, Advanced Marketing Analytics, and Integrated Marketing Communication to slightly over 1,000 undergraduate students. It also offers marketing courses to a full complement of graduate students in the M.B.A. program and a new STEM-designated Master of Science in Marketing Analytics degree program, as well as an accelerated Marketing Analytics sequence and 4+1 program. In addition, the department offers a B.S. and M.S. in Business Education. The department includes 35 tenured, tenure track and non-tenure track faculty (with 16 Ph.D.’s/D.B.A.’s).

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

140,000-153,000

Required Qualifications

Candidates for the position must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. degree in Marketing or a closely related field, from an AACSB accredited business school, by the position start date from an AACSB accredited business school. A.B.D. candidates will be considered; however, all degree requirements must be completed prior to the start date of employment.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
