Job Summary
Learn and gain experience in the behind-the-scenes process that goes into implementing large- and small-scale events.
- Set up events by gathering, moving, and preparing supplies for an event.
- Assist in the implementation of social events.
- Staff events and remain on site for the duration of the event.
- Assist with event take-down and evaluation.
Learn and gain experience in outreach, relationship building, and public speaking.
- Assist with educational and informational sessions.
- Greet individuals entering sessions or at check in; mingle with students and families in between and at events.
All Welcome Week Student Crew members will:
- Assist with other duties as assigned throughout Welcome Week.
- Participate in training prior to the Welcome Week program.
Student Crew members will not be available to work other on-campus or off-campus jobs during Welcome Week (August 12 – 17, 2025).

Pay Rate
$15.00/hour
Required Qualifications
All student employees in the Dean of Students Office must maintain good academic (min. 2.0 cumulative GPA) and disciplinary standing from the point of application through term of employment. The employer will check status at the beginning and the end of each semester of employment.
Must be in good standing with the Student Conduct and Community Responsibilities office.
Must be an enrolled student during the fall 2025 semester.

Work Hours
Various – morning, afternoon, and evening
5-7 hours TOTAL (not per week) in April 2025.
An additional 30-35 hours during Welcome Week: August 11-17, 2025.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without reasonable accommodations:
1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
2. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
3. Lift up to 30lbs.
Proposed Starting Date
Training will take place April 2025, with implementation in August 2025.

This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and if applicable, an employment history review, based on University Policy 3.1.30 and any offer of employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation and/or an employment history review.
