This position will work under broad policy guidance and exercise sound judgment when making critical decisions under varying degrees of pressure. The Director of Redbird Productions OR Assistant Athletic Director of Redbird Productions will utilize open creative license to directly influence the brand that is Redbird Athletics. This position is responsible for all ESPN3linear and non-linear broadcast events content delivery, coordinating live broadcasts to air on ESPN3 and other web streaming services while also making educated purchasing decisions to ensure Redbird Athletics is using cutting edge production techniques. This position is also responsible for collaborating with other Athletics staff members to create marketing, publicity, highlight, banquet and other feature videos. This may include special videos, video recordings, and sponsorship elements. The person in this position must be able to work independently, make responsible decisions on the spot, and see the "big picture" of consistent branding while working on each individual production project.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$43,896 - $52,000 annual (see special instructions to applicants section for additional information)
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in film/video production, cinematography, radio and television, documentary film production, photojournalism, communications, graphic design, or a closely related field to the position.
2. One (1) year (12 months) of full time or part time equivalent professional work experience in areas including non-linear video editing, motion graphics, video lighting and composition, camera operation, graphics design, audio recording, video production, sports video production or a closely related professional area.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree
2. Previous work experience producing linear and non-linear TV Productions or similar web streaming platform.
3. Experience with Daktronics displays and software.
Work Hours
Core work hours 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Frequent weekend and night availability required.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
2. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
3. Must be able to lift and/or carry a 30lb while setting up and tearing down camera equipment.

This search is to fill one vacancy. The working title will be determined based on years of related experience.
A final candidate with two or more years of full-time, related experience will be hired under working title Assistant Athletic Director of Redbird Productions. A final candidate with less than two years full-time, related experience will be hired under the working title of Director of Redbird Productions.
The salary range for this position is as follows:
- Assistant Athletic Director of Redbird Productions: $48,000 - $52,000
- Director of Redbird Productions: $43,896 - $48,000

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
