Job Summary
The Premium Events Coordinator will assist the Director of Premium Events with planning, scheduling, organizing, staffing, and managing assigned premium events and activities. This role includes coordinating events utilizing premium athletic spaces such as Hancock Stadium, CEFCU Arena, OSF Athletics Training Center and other Athletic facilities. Premium events may include weddings, staff meetings, and similar functions. Responsibilities also encompass facilitating contracts, invoicing, compiling a monthly event schedule, and serving as a liaison with various campus units.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$19.49 - $22.05 per hour
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Hospitality, Event Planning, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Student Affairs, Sports Management, Recreation Management, or a closely related field.
2. One (1) year of full-time or part-time equivalent experience with event coordinating, development, sales, athletics (collegiate or professional), or related field.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
4. Excellent oral and written communications skills.
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
1. One (1) year event management/development experience.
2. Demonstrated experience supervising full-time and part-time staff; this includes the hiring, training, evaluation and scheduling of staff for events and services.
3. Flexibility and adaptability to changes and unexpected situations.
4. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement when making decisions under varying degrees of pressure.
5. Great attention to detail.
Work Hours
Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. Frequent weekend and night availability required.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods
2. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score.
