Job Summary
The student ambassador will assist with recruitment efforts to encourage high school students, community college, and current ISU students to apply and accept offers to the Geography or Geology programs at Illinois State University. Duties may include interacting with prospective students at Open Houses organized by Illinois State University throughout the year (typically occurring on Fridays and Saturdays), organizing recruiting activities, holding office hours, and reaching out to potential students through phone calls, emails, letters, and social media. Prospective students may also reach out directly to the student ambassadors. Students in this position should be well prepared to answer questions related to the programs, department, and university. There will be training for this position.

Required Qualifications
Expectations:
- Be a major in the Geography, Geography Education, ESSS, Geology, or Earth and Space Science.
- Be a student in good academic and disciplinary standing at Illinois State University.
- Be available for various campus and community needs throughout the year upon request.
- Be outgoing and involved in department and/or campus activities.
- Need to be available on some weekends.

- Sophomore standing or above

This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and if applicable, an employment history review, based on University Policy 3.1.30 and any offer of employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation and/or an employment history review.
