Job Summary
The person in this position is responsible for managing the School of Music instrument inventory, including checking instruments and lockers in/out for student use. The person in this position will interact regularly with students, faculty, and staff to ensure student instrument needs are met for courses and ensembles and will interact regularly with external vendors.

$17.00 per hour
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of classical music
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in music.
- Prior experience managing musical instrument inventory.
- Extensive on-stage musical performance experience preferred.
Work Hours
12 hours per week
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Lift, push, and pull large musical instruments and other musical equipment (chairs, stands, podiums, amps)
- Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement, with Illinois State University. However, Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the University’s supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
