Job Summary
Illinois State University invites applications for the position of Chairperson of the Department of Marketing. The Chairperson is the spokesperson for a dynamic and diverse faculty, works with an advisory board of business professionals, recruits students and faculty, supports departmental teaching, research, and service activities, and manages resources, including friend- and fund-raising.
The Department of Marketing is one of four departments in the College of Business at Illinois State University and offers nationally recognized educational programs in Marketing. The department offers a B.S. in Marketing (with sequences in Advanced Marketing Analytics, Integrated Marketing Communication, and Professional Sales) and an M.S. in Marketing Analytics. The department also offers a B.S. and M.S. in Business Education. The department enrolls approximately 900 undergraduate and graduate students (fall 2023).
The Chairperson supports a culture that values shared governance, inclusion, and a balance between effective instruction and scholarly research. The Department of Marketing currently includes 30 tenured/tenure-track faculty, instructional assistant professors, and staff. The department enjoys strong relationships with local Fortune 100 firms, among others.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
Commensurate with experience and qualifications, combined with an excellent benefits package.
Required Qualifications
(1) An earned doctorate in Marketing (or equivalent)
(2) Academic achievements in scholarship and teaching that merit appointment with tenure at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor
(3) An established record of successful teaching, significant intellectual contributions, and university service
(4) Must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
Preferred Qualifications
• Earned doctorate from an AACSB accredited university
• Familiarity with business AACSB accreditation standards and processes
• Prior administrative experience
