Summer positions available in University Housing Services

The student editor will be responsible for the formulation of editorial policy and all news-editorial aspects of the newspaper, including content, coverage, editing and the presentation of news and editorial matter. The student editor will have the final decision on whether a news story, photograph, editorial, column or advertisement is published and will bear responsibility for such decisions. The student editor will be concerned primarily with overall staff direction in the areas of news, opinion, photography, features, sports and editing.

Admissions Ambassadors are the face of Illinois State University. They assist in the daily operations of the Admissions Front Desk/Reception Area, handle inbound and outbound calls, identify and address prospective student and family questions, staff the front desk reception area, data entry, and other office duties as assigned.

Honors Student Leadership Team members contribute to the success of the Honors Program by engaging with current and prospective students. Members of the team will work in Honors Mindset Seminar, assist with planning and executing Honors events, mentoring Honors students through a lens of equity, diversity and inclusion, helping with recruitment, or providing organization and clerical support for the Honors Program office.

The Student Deliberative Dialogues Assistant is expected to serve as a positive representative of CCE, using professional verbal and written communication skills to communicate with multiple audiences and support CCE’s principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

The certified teacher of visually impaired students works with students with visual impairments that attend their home school and other educational sites. The vision itinerant teacher will provide direct services per the IEP process to students with an identified visual impairment, serve as a resource to school personnel, evaluate students referred through appropriate channels, and promote interest in and an understanding of the implications of a visual impairment. This position will be responsible for supporting the preparation of future educators by collaborating with ISU and hosting pre-service teachers.

College Coaches play a critical role in the success of the two-week Summer Immersion Program, held on ISU’s campus, from Saturday, May 30, 2026 to Saturday, June 13, 2026. The College Coach serves as a supportive and caring staff member, models appropriate and collegiate behavior, co-facilitates college prep or life skills workshops, tutors the Scholars and encourages successful learning practices.

Overnight Staff play a critical role in the success of the two-week Summer Immersion Program, held on ISU’s campus. Overnight Staff are responsible for supervision of the Scholars between 11:30PM and 6:30AM from Saturday, May 30, 2026 to Saturday, June 13, 2026.
