Job Summary
This position assists the loan area, which is responsible for processing Federal Direct Stafford, PLUS, Nursing, and Alternative loans. Job duties include reviewing/working reports from the Department of Education and the ISU PeopleSoft Campus Solutions system, completing monthly and annual reconciliation of programs, providing loan counseling to students and parents, monitoring eligibility of graduate certificates for loans, preparing the nursing annual operating report, and maintaining and enhancing a loan default prevention program.
This position is also responsible for monitoring the Federal Work Study Program, preparing reports on the Job Location and Development program, auditing Return of Title IV calculations and establishing contracts for off-campus Federal Work Study (FWS) employment that meet community service requirements.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$3694 - $4175 per month
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, natural or social sciences, humanities, education, or a field related to the position. (transcripts required - may be unofficial)
2. A minimum of two (2) years of full time (or part-time equivalent) professional experience in financial aid. Experience must include specialized knowledge of regulations and restrictions governing the Federal Direct loan program and Federal Work-Study, knowledge of need analysis and Return of Title IV funds.
3. Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
4. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
2. Strong administrative abilities.
Work Hours
Core hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. Occasional evening and weekend availability required.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
