Job Summary
Career Services’ mission is to empower and support Redbirds to achieve their professional goals by providing resources, experiences, and industry connections.
The Curriculum Development Graduate Assistant will assist their director supervisor and the Student Relations Team in achieving the mission, vision, and goals of Career Services. The GA will be responsible for the duties listed below in addition to other duties assigned.
Career & Curriculum Development
- Assist the Career Curriculum Development Advisor with planning course content, assessing course effectiveness, and implementing continuous plans for course improvement for all courses administered by Career Services.
- Research best practices of career and curriculum development to improve training, course materials and resources.
- Assist Career Services staff in the execution of events for career-related courses
- Plan, organize, and execute Career Chats program
- Provide administrative, strategic, and instructional support for career preparation co
Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$1,510 for 0.5 FTE appointment
Required Qualifications
1. Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook which can befound at http://hr.illinoisstate.edu/downloads/GA_Handbook.pdf
2. Must be a degree seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in any of the following graduateprograms College Student Personnel Administration in College Student Personnel Administration, Communication, Criminal Justice, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, MBA, Sociology, Teaching and Learning.
3. Detail-oriented, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to work effectively on several projects simultaneously.
5. Ability to work cooperatively in a team.
6. Technical skills including Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
7. Ability to work some evenings and weekends.

This is a 9.5 month Graduate Assistantship with a contract period from August 4, 2025 - May 8, 2026. Asa GA, you will be expected to adhere to the University Administrative Calendar and all expectations asset forth in the offer letter. An extension of this appointment is available, pending satisfactory performance.
