Job Summary
The Digital Learning and Instructional Support Specialist supports the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of the BAT Project’s online professional learning and technical assistance resources. This role works collaboratively with project staff to translate complex content related to Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and school-based behavior supports into clear, engaging, and accessible digital learning materials. The specialist assists with building and maintaining online modules, supporting the project website and learning management systems, and contributing to data collection, evaluation, and reporting activities. By focusing on quality, accessibility, and user experience, this role helps ensure that educators and school teams across Illinois can effectively access, engage with, and apply BAT Project professional learning resources.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$41.02 - $43.59/hour

Required Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in instructional design, digital learning support, training development, healthcare education, education, or a closely related field, as demonstrated through progressively responsible roles.
● Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience supporting digital learning, training, instructional materials, or standardized workflows in complex, regulated, or multi-stakeholder environments (e.g., education, healthcare, public service, or similar systems).
● Demonstrated understanding of K–12 special education frameworks and student support systems, including IEP development and implementation, gained through professional roles, advocacy, community engagement, or sustained self-directed learning and applied experience.
● Demonstrated experience developing structured instructional materials, such as training guides, workflow documentation, job aids, reference materials, or digital learning content, intended for adult learners or professional audiences.
● Proven ability to translate complex requirements, policies, or procedures into clear, user-centered documentation that supports consistency, accuracy, and implementation fidelity.
● Demonstrated proficiency using digital productivity, design, and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, SharePoint, Canva, H5P, Adobe or comparable platforms) to support instructional delivery and documentation.
● Experience supporting remote or hybrid teams through standardized processes, shared digital systems, and collaborative workflows.
● Demonstrated ability to manage confidential or sensitive data, follow established data management protocols, and maintain compliance with applicable privacy requirements.
● Strong written, verbal, and technology-mediated communication skills, with evidence of producing polished, professional-facing materials.
● Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, meet timelines, and maintain attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
● Evidence of problem-solving and continuous improvement, including identifying inefficiencies, refining workflows, or improving instructional or documentation systems.

Preferred Qualifications
● Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory applied in professional or clinical training contexts.
● Experience supporting statewide, multi-district, or large-scale professional learning initiatives.
● Experience supporting professional development or technical assistance for educators, paraprofessionals, or school-based teams, including work within statewide, multi-district, or large-scale professional learning initiatives.
● Strong visual and instructional design skills, including attention to layout, accessibility, branding, and learner experience.
● Experience contributing to continuous improvement cycles, including use of feedback, evaluation data, or quality standards to refine instructional materials.
● Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and online training delivery platforms, including supporting end users.
Work Hours
General work hours are M-F, 8am - 4:30pm. Evening or weekend hours may be expected, depending on business need.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

2. Move about in various locations on and off campus as needed to complete day-to-day work
