Job Summary
This is a student employee position within the Department of Emergency Management that focuses on administration and development activities of mapping tools and other data within the University’s virtual emergency operations center (EOC) application, as well as assisting with administration of other technology tools that support the University’s preparedness for emergencies.
Responsibilities Include:
• Update and maintain Graphical Information Systems (GIS) and map layers within the University’s virtual EOC application (currently Veoci).
• Develop, update, and maintain forms, workflows, dashboards, and other tools in the University’s virtual EOC application.
• Develop, update, and maintain documentation for proper use of the University’s virtual EOC application, as well as other tools.
• Assist with other duties, as assigned.
Organizational Relationships:
The position reports to the Emergency Management Coordinator. This position will collaborate with other members of the Emergency Management department, as well as other relevant departments such as Facilities Services.

Required Qualifications
1. Extreme attention to detail
2. Strong organizational, planning, and thinking on-the-fly skills
3. Competency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
4. Comfortable working with various software and applications
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with individuals from various technical and educational backgrounds
6. Ability to work independently when necessary
7. High personal integrity and self-motivated
Preferred Qualifications
1. Academic or practical experience working with various technology tools including Graphical Information Systems (GIS) applications (i.e. ArcGIS, etc.)
2. Academic or practical experience working with database management, workflow management, or other similar software applications
3. Academic or practical experience within one or more disciplines of public safety (law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical services, public health, health sciences, nursing, emergency management, life guard, Cadets/Explorers/Civil Air Patrol/Scouts, etc.)
Work Hours
Flexible during work day (Monday-Friday - 8:00am-4:30pm)
