Job Summary
Lead Conference Assistants (LCA) are live-in student positions tasked with assisting the Residence Hall Coordinator team with training, scheduling, and providing overall leadership to the Conference Assistant(CA) team. Lead Conference Assistants will also assist with various Conference Assistant responsibilities such as front desk management, conference check-in and out, building preparation, and emergency response.
Lead Conference Assistants Responsibilities:
1. Assist in scheduling and monitoring the day-to-day work of the Conference Assistant team.
2. Ensure that all conference check-ins and checkouts are staffed appropriately.
3. Work with Conference Assistants to update and maintain bulletin boards and directional signs in the residence halls.
4. Meet and communicate regularly with Residence Hall Coordinator (RHC) team.
5. Present a good image of Illinois State University
6. Assist in acquainting conference sponsors with conference policies, procedures, facilities, and emergency procedures.
7. Be available to conference participants; respond to needs and concerns, and make referrals when necessary.
8. Responsible for building safety and security.
9. Assist in the implementation of emergency procedures.
10. Possibly serve in an on-call rotation for desk and conference needs.
11. Assist with other duties and projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Pay Rate
$15.00/hour
Required Qualifications
- Attend training in April
- Available to work from May 11th through August 12th
- Pre-enrolled for fall semester classes or registered for summer classes.
- Prepared to work extra hours from Friday, June 7th through Sunday, June 10th for Illinois Special Olympics and not to exceed 28 hours for the scheduled work week.
- Adhere to the established dress code
- Must be available to work evenings and weekend hours as assigned by supervisor.
- 2.4 cumulative grade point average at time of application.
- Completed at least 24 credit hours at time of appointment.
- Good disciplinary standing with the University.
- Have at least one semester of residence hall living experience

Work Hours
Monday through Sunday, between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. - as scheduled during building hours.
