Title: Redbird Creative Video Editor - 2 positions

Redbird Athletics is part of the Missouri Valley Conference and is an NCAA Division I institution. This position is a part of the video department and will produce creative video content that portrays Illinois State Athletics' story across multiple mediums Duties of this position include, but is not limited to: produce compelling content for digital and social outlets from ideation to finished product including: scripting, shooting, editing and motion graphics; contribute ideas and assist in planning, shooting, editing intro/hype videos; ideate and create motion graphics for social media use; strong understanding of trends in the industry and proven storytelling ability using video and audio; collaborate with Redbird Sports Properties to ensure sponsorship integration into video content; aid in the revenue-generating opportunities of the department; oversee consistency in brand guidelines and messaging related to content and posting.
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in film/video production, cinematography, radio and television, documentary film production, photojournalism, communications, graphic design, or a closely related field to the position.
*Note: Students in the final semester of a Bachelor's Degree program, may be allowed to complete a credential examination and will receive full consideration, including being interviewed. An offer may be extended with understanding that proof of degree based on institution is provided to the employing institution Human Resources Office at least two weeks before the proposed start date.
2. One (1) year of full-time or part-time equivalent professional work experience in areas including non-linear video editing, motion graphics, video lighting and composition, camera operation, graphics design, audio recording, video production, or a closely related professional area
3. Specialized skills in non-linear computer video editing, motion graphics, video lighting and composition, camera operation, graphics design, audio recording, and video production.
4. Proficiency in Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite along with the ability to produce and create exciting audio-visual content.
5. Demonstrated experience with ENG style and DSLR (Sony FS7 and Sony FS700) filming and editing.
6. Demonstrated experience producing high-quality video content for various outlets.
7. Strong copywriting and editing skills
8. Strong time management skills, as well as understanding of video & creative project workflow
1. Two to three years of industry-specific experience
2. Demonstrated ability to meet short deadlines
3. Ability to work in a team-oriented and fast paced environment
4. Knowledge of live production equipment including Ross, Newtek, and Daktronics production software.
Core working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Nights and weekends are frequently required.
