Job Summary
Conduct initial screening of manuscripts. Provide support for administrative and organizational tasks within Sage ScholarOne editorial online system. Prepare agendas and meet regularly with editorial team. Manage communication with reviewers and authors. Support editorial team in preparing social media posts and conference sessions. Lead Editorial Assistant will need to have strong cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills. Twenty hours per week for the tasks related to being a lead editorial assistant involves working with faculty members on the journal for which they serve as lead editors.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$755 - $1510 for Master’s students or $808 - $1615 for Doctoral students
Required Qualifications
1. Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook which can be found at http://hr.illinoisstate.edu/downloads/GA_Handbook.pdf
2. Must be a degree seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in Teaching and Learning.
3. Experience in scholarly writing.
4. Experience with APA 7th edition and/or MLA.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience in scholarly writing in literacy and/or related field.
2. Effective online communication.
