Job Summary
This position serves as both Contract Administrator and leader of the institution’s procurement compliance and supplier diversity programs. The role is responsible for reviewing, administering, and approving contracts submitted through Purchasing to ensure compliance with University policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Working closely with campus partners—including General Counsel, Risk Management, Accessibility, Information Security, and the Export Control Officer—the position ensures that all contractual, regulatory, and institutional requirements are addressed.
In addition, the position leads the institution’s procurement compliance framework and supplier diversity initiatives, including the Business Enterprise Program (BEP). The role designs and implements procurement policies, conducts training and audits, manages risk, maintains required documentation and reporting, and actively advances BEP participation and utilization goals. Through strong collaboration with internal stakeholders and vendors, the position promotes compliant, ethical, transparent, and inclusive purchasing practices across the University.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$5,500 - $6,400 per month
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Supply Chain, Public Administration, Business, Law, Finance, or related field
2. Two (2) or more years of full time (or part-time equivalent) progressively responsible procurement or purchasing experience in higher education, government, or another regulated public-sector environment.
3. Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPPO, CPPB, CPSM, CPCM).
2. Direct experience administering a BEP/supplier diversity program, including goal setting, utilization tracking, and subcontracting plan oversight.
3. Experience working with contracts involving data security, accessibility, or regulated research activities.
4. Experience in higher-education procurement with construction, professional services, IT, and research-related purchases.
5. Familiarity with accessibility, information security, data privacy, and sustainability requirements in procurements.
Work Hours
Core work hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview.
