Job Summary
The Systems Administrator and Technology Manager is a key member of the technical support team, providing comprehensive technology support, consultation, and proactive solutions to faculty and staff of the College of Business. The role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including the configuration, setup, networking, security, troubleshooting, inventorying, and maintenance of endpoint technologies such as desktop and laptop computers, tablets, smartphones, printers, and line-of-business applications.
The Systems Administrator and Technology Manager focuses on delivering high-quality, customer-centric technology support tailored to end users’ unique needs. This includes first and second-level support, provided in person, over the phone, and via chat, email, or remote desktop assistance. This role involves tracking, documenting, and resolving technical incidents using the University's incident management system and maintaining up-to-date documentation of processes and solutions.
Additionally, this position will collaborate closely with other campus IT units, the Technology Support Center, and relevant teams to ensure seamless support and service delivery. The Systems Administrator and Technology Manager also takes on a mentorship role. Offering guidance and training to student technicians and overseeing their integration into daily support operations. They will also take on the inventory and technology lifecycle plan for the College of Business.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$29.00 per hour
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or equivalent degree in an Information Technology related discipline
- At least one year (12 months) of full-time (or part-time equivalent) work experience in an Information Technology related profession
- The following demonstrated skills and abilities:
a. advanced problem-solving abilities, including the ability to identify opportunities for improvement of existing technologies and new technologies
b. ability to self-manage assigned projects and daily tasks in an environment with shifting priorities
c. excellent verbal and written communication skills
d. ability to handle confidential and security sensitive information in a highly professional manner - High degree of independent decision-making and sound judgment to address emerging needs and provide timely, innovative solutions effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundation Certification
- HDI Desktop Support Technician Certification
- Experience with Windows known folders (i.e. Desktop, Documents, Pictures) redirected to OneDrive
- Experience with Windows Server Administration
- Demonstrated ability to follow established procedures, even in a high-pressure and time sensitive situations

Functional Expectations

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score.
