Job Summary
The Department of Finance, Insurance and Law (FIL) in the College of Business (COB) invites applications for a non-tenure track position in the area of risk management and insurance (RMI), beginning in the spring of 2026. The primary teaching need is for courses in the RMI major curriculum including risk management in business, commercial insurance contracts, insurance company operations, and household risk management and insurance. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
The College of Business at Illinois State University is one of only 189 schools that are AACSB accredited in both business and accounting. Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$1,250 - $1,375 per month per 3 credit hour course, commensurate with experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in related field
2. At least 5 years of work experience in the areas of risk management, insurance, including brokerage, underwriting, risk analysis, and/or claims.
3. Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
