Job Summary
This Biological Sciences Advisor will serve as an undergraduate advisor in various Biology Majors and Sequences, excluding Biology Teacher Education, for students starting at sophomore status. Must be able to effectively communicate to the school director the progress of the advisement procedures and policies. Advisement requires being aware of and thoroughly understanding University and School policies, procedures and communicating appropriate information to students, faculty, staff and administrators. Also, must be able to provide guidance to and oversight of student accountability. This position will also teach one course per semester in the Biological Sciences.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$4,600 - $4,800 monthly

Required Qualifications
1. Master's in Biological Sciences or related field.
2. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to make effective public presentations
3. Excellent interpersonal skills including listening, communication, and teamwork
4. Organizational skills a must
5. Ability to work and communicate with diverse populations of students, peers, and public
6. At least 1 year of University/College level teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
1. Ability to keep accurate and detailed student records.
2 . A strong command of computer literacy is required; must possess proven skills and day-to-day experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe products (Reader, Acrobat). Additional competencies include the ability and readiness to learn and adopt other software as needed.
3. Experience in developing and teaching courses
Work Hours
Office setting. The core work hours of this position are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Position occasionally requires work beyond regular office hours for events and/or teaching
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
