Job Summary
The Honors Academic Advisor is part of the Honors Program team, which works collaboratively to develop and implement the mission and goals of the Honors Program. This position serves as an academic advisor primarily to first-year students, manages and coordinates Contracts and Explorations, two of the Honors Learning Experiences, and oversees connections with the Honors Themed Living Learning Communities.
What you can expect:
• An advising caseload of approximately 90-100 first year students in assigned majors.
• Coordinating Honors Contracts and Explorations
• Giving presentations to groups of students during new student orientation and as part of Honors Mindset Seminar.
• Collaboration with other campus offices.
• Participating in internal training and professional development opportunities on a continuing basis.
• Team meetings to plan or work on program initiatives.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$43,890 - $48,000
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to make effective public presentations.
3. Evidence of interpersonal communication and listening skills to interact in a culturally inclusive and respectful manner.
4. Effective communication with multiple stakeholders (students, parents/guardians/families, faculty, administrators, staff, and the general public) through a variety of channels.
5. Autonomously manage multiple ongoing work goals and priorities, with attention to detail and follow-through.
6. Exhibit a professional and growth-minded demeanor that contributes to a culture of teamwork, understanding, and empathy.
7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and produce quality work under deadlines.
8. Student centered with a focus on creating an equitable and diverse environment.
9. Collaborate positively within a dynamic team environment.

2. Academic advising experience or experience working with students
