Job Summary
The person in this position oversees day-to-day operation of the Lois Jett Historic Costume Collection (LJHCC), provides clerical support to Director of the LJHCC, acts as a front-line customer service for guests, and serves as event planner for exhibitions and tours. More specifically, this person will:
-Field/direct questions and requests from telephone calls, emails, and walk-in traffic associated with students, faculty, as well as other departments and visitors from outside the University.
- Greet visitors; answer phones; schedule visits to the LJHCC, assist the Director of the LJHCC, copying, collate and staple; file; proofread marketing materials.
-Make room reservations; maintain LJHCC web and social media pages, as well as update the University calendar.
-Create and update a calendar of events for the LJHCC including exhibitions, guest visits; Make reservations, distribute invitations and/or flyers for all events in LJHCC which includes special events that involve alumni, visiting faculty, guest lecturers and judges. Create online exhibitions to coordinate with gallery exhibitions which includes exhibition research.
-Oversee the digitization of the LJHCC items with Milner Library which includes transporting or preparing delicate items for digitization. Research and create historical notes for each item. Manage course requests for LJHCC items which includes transporting items to various classrooms on campus and ensure the safety and preservation of those items.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$16.61 - $18.00 per hour
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories:
A. college coursework in business administration, communications, public relations or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
-30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
-Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
-90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
-Bachelor’s degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months
B. Responsible work experience in customer services, public relations, office administration, business and financial operations, healthcare administration or other closely related experience
Work Hours
Work up to 15 hours per week. Schedule will be determined upon hire.

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
