Job Summary
The MDI program is an extension of the University’s mission to promote Civic Engagement on campus. Instructors in the MDI training programs combine research-based knowledge with practical application and international/global experience. MDI instructors will be available to teach in multicultural settings in areas of professional development as described under the Required Qualifications. In addition to teaching in classrooms and computer labs, instructors may be invited to accompany participants during professional visits to organizations and businesses during the time of training.
At Illinois State University (ISU), MDI instructors will be teaching in classrooms with the same environment and setting as with the teaching of regular academic ISU students.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$100 per hour
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience with MDI Program in areas related to Human Resource Management; Financial Management; Project Management; Economic & Financial Analysis of Projects; Social Inclusion & Social Protection; Quality Management; Marketing Management; Monitoring & Evaluation; Education Management; Statistics and Econometrics.
- Master’s and/or Doctoral Degree in related field
Work Hours
Will be determined by the department as per lecture schedule
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Instruct 5 or more hours at one time.
- Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement, with Illinois State University. However, Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the University’s supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
