Candidate will be responsible for teaching Social Science courses which may include AP and dual credit courses. University High School is a service unit of the College of Education of Illinois State University. It offers a comprehensive program of instruction for 600 students in grades 9-12. This unique school acts as a laboratory for 21st century educational innovation and research. The mission of the school is to provide a site in which excellence in education theory may be connected to practice. Extracurricular duties may be assigned.

Students in this position will be expected to provide general maintenance support in residence halls, including moving furniture and loading and unloading trucks, and possibly assisting with fire watch duty.

The majority of the graduate teaching assistants primary duties are in support of instruction including but not limited to the responsibilities below: 1. Serve as a primary or secondary teaching instructor in a class or laboratory; 2. Assist a faculty member with teaching-related tasks; 3. Grade student assignments which require knowledge of subjects taught in a class or laboratory; 4. Meet with and/or tutor students, mentor students in disciplinary writing, hold office hours, prepare instructional materials, and assist during class and/or lab.
