The admissions counselor position is responsible for recruiting and supporting new undergraduate students at Illinois State University. This position represents the University at on- and off-campus events, including college fairs, school visits, daily campus visits, and large admissions programs. Counselors serve as key points of contact for school counselors, students, and families, providing guidance throughout the college search, admission, and enrollment process.

The Residence Hall Coordinator (RHC) provides year-round leadership and direction for one or more residence halls/buildings.

The vision itinerant teacher will provide direct services per the IEP process to students with an identified visual impairment, serve as a resource to school personnel, evaluate students referred through appropriate channels, and promote interest in and an understanding of the implications of a visual impairment. This position will be responsible for supporting the preparation of future educators by collaborating with ISU and hosting pre-service teachers.

The Safe Redbirds Ambassador is a student employee position that assists in a wide variety of activities designed to assist in maintaining and maturing the University’s emergency preparedness and safety programs. Further, Ambassadors serve as trusted representatives of ISU’s public safety initiatives, working to foster a culture of preparedness, security, and resilience across the campus community. This role focuses on education, outreach, advocacy, and engagement with diverse student populations.

The majority of the graduate teaching assistants primary duties are in support of instruction including but not limited to the responsibilities below: 1. Serve as a primary or secondary teaching instructor in a class or laboratory; 2. Assist a faculty member with teaching-related tasks; 3. Grade student assignments which require knowledge of subjects taught in a class or laboratory; 4. Meet with and/or tutor students, mentor students in disciplinary writing, hold office hours, prepare instructional materials, and assist during class and/or lab.
