As a vital component of the fundraising team, the Director of Donor Stewardship is responsible for providing university-wide leadership for donor stewardship, recognition, and engagement activities that support fundraising priorities across annual, major, and principal gift programs. The position exercises independent professional judgment in the development, coordination, and execution of donor engagement strategies and serves as a strategic partner and advisor to fundraising staff and campus leadership in the retention and growth of donors in order to maximize fundraising success. Graduate Assistants engage in diverse tasks, including direct one-on-one student support, academic skills workshops, evening and weekend supervision of undergraduate staff, and administrative work.

The Center for Civic Engagement is looking for two undergraduate students to work 28 hours per week during the summer. The Student Office Assistants will assist staff with completing duties as assigned. Tasks may include filing, copying, typing, working with spreadsheets, scanning and sorting documents, department tabling, giving general department overview presentations, driving ISU Fleet vehicles to presentations and tabling events, creating and designing flyers, organizing and restocking supplies, and working with MS Teams, Word, and Excel.

The Director of Development represents Illinois State University in pursuing major gifts (funding commitments of $25,000 or more made via outright, pledged or planned gift arrangements) from individuals. The individual holding the position will develop and execute strategies and plans to cultivate, solicit and secure major gifts and qualify new major gift prospects. As appropriate, the individual will collaborate with development colleagues working on behalf of ISU colleges or administrative units and with deans, other campus administrative leaders, and faculty/staff.
