Job Summary
Milner Library Information Technology Services is seeking an undergraduate student employee to assist full time IT staff with day‑to‑day IT support and operations.
Students in this role will gain hands‑on experience supporting public‑facing technology, maintaining IT equipment, and contributing to an excellent patron and employee IT experience. This is a great position for students interested in developing practical IT support, troubleshooting, and maintenance skills in a real‑world setting.
Core duites include:
- Restock paper cabinets at major printing locations throughout the library.
- Refill printer/copier paper at all patron‑facing printing stations.
- Perform routine inspections of Scannx scanner stations, collaboration stations, classroom technology, and conference room equipment.
- Periodic cleaning of computers, printers, copiers, and scanners.
- Assist Milner Library IT staff with day‑to‑day IT issues and questions.
- Assist with handling of 3D printing jobs.

Pay Rate
$15.00/hour

Preferred Qualifications
- Interest or experience in IT support or technology services including:
- Basic computer troubleshooting knowledge.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware.
- Basic understanding of Windows or macOS operating systems.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 applications.
- Ability to work summer term hours.
Work Hours
10-15 hours per week. Primarily between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
- Travel across all 6 Milner Library floors.
- Squat or kneel to access equipment under desks or tables.
- Lift up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 40 lbs occasionally.
- Follow all policies and supervisor instructions.
- Be physically present in Milner Library IT offices.
- Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
