Job Summary
The Academic Advisor advises IT students, providing students with information and assistance in selecting course work, developing a plan of study, and academic decision making appropriate to their personal and academic needs and goals. The Academic Advisor serves on appropriate committees, represents the school at selected university events, advises on course scheduling, and assists with the recruitment and retention of students for ISU and IT.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$50,000 - $58,000
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree
2. Demonstrated experience in an area of Information Technology
4. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication skills
5. Ability to learn easily and disseminate detailed information
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others or in teams
7. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
8. Excellent computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
1. Degree in an information technology field or at least two years of experience working in an Information Technology field
2. Previous advising or student affairs experience
3. Experience working with diverse populations
4. Strong organizational skills
5. Strong people skills
Work Hours
Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 4:30 pm); occasional evenings and Saturdays required.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
2. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
3. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
