Job Summary

The Family & Consumer Science Teacher will teach courses to 5th-8th graders. Will also be participating and attending the Outdoor education program. This consists of assisting in facilitating our Outdoor Education program which includes spending the night in a campground setting with students and faculty.

Metcalf Laboratory School is a service unit of the College of Education of Illinois State University. It offers a comprehensive program of instruction for 400+ students in grades PreK-8. Metcalf is a caring community of life-long learners. Its mission is to act as a model for educational methods and theory in support of the preparation of future educators, conduct educational research, offer quality educational programs for children, and disseminate information to others in the educational profession.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$22,550 - $46,200 commensurate with experience and education

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Professional Educator License with appropriate FACS endorsement

Work Hours

Part-time during school hours, with occasional work beyond regular school hours

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

2. Effectively communicate on a daily basis
