Job Summary
Coach and oversight of all aspects of the Redbird Cheer Program including but not limited to:
- Budget Management including fundraising opportunities
- Safety for those involved in the program
- Equipment upkeep and maintenance
- Tryout process
- Managing the team schedule to make sure they are present at all expected events
- Making sure all administrative work is performed in a timely manner
- Attending and assisting with practice 3 days a week and games as needed
- Travel occasionally with cheer team to necessary away contests including basketball conference championship events and others as directed
- Continuous positive promotion of Illinois State and the Athletics Program
- Other duties as assigned

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$20.00 per hour
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree
2. One (1) year of cheer coaching experience
Work Hours
Varies. Up to 28 hours per week. Will occasionally require travel.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
2. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

Special Instructions for Applicants
Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement, with Illinois State University. However, Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the University’s supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
