Job Summary
Graduate Teaching Assistant's are in support of instruction preparation and may be assigned to assist multiple faculty members within one academic arena in the College of Business. TA will not serve as either primary or secondary instructor. Duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Assist faculty member(s) with teaching related tasks and preparation
2. Grade student assignments (requiring knowledge of subject(s) being taught)
3. Meet with and/or tutor undergraduate students, prepare instructional materials, assist instructor during class and/or lab (also requiring knowledge of subject)
4. Assist with supervising exams/quizzes mainly in undergraduate classes
5. Assist with course evaluations
Additional Information
Graduate Teaching Assistants in the College of Business do not perform as either primary or secondary instructor of a course.

Required Qualifications
1. Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook which can be found at https://hr.illinoisstate.edu/downloads/GA_Handbook.pdf.
2. Must be a degree seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in the MBA program through the college of business.
3. For teaching assistant positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
Have demonstrable oral and written proficiency in the English language.
Work Hours
Hours will vary with needs of instructor(s) to which TA will be assigned. Hours will not interfere with TA's own class schedule.

Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment for all positions held. International students are restricted by their visa status to no more than 20 hours per week of on-campus employment when the university is in session but may work up to 28 hours per week when the university is not in session.
