Job Summary
Case coordination to ensure reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities and/or medical/mental health conditions through review of documentation, determination of eligibility, implementation of appropriate accommodations and collaboration with faculty/staff/departments to ensure accommodation compliance.
Assure equal access to Illinois State University programs, activities and services for all Illinois State University students with disabilities and/or medical/mental health conditions through design and implementation of reasonable accommodations, support services and technical assistance based upon Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act.
Ensure the confidentiality of all student information and documentation.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$51,000/year plus based on relevant experience
Required Qualifications
1. Master's degree
2. At least one (1) year of full time (or part time equivalent) work experience with individuals with disabilities.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of disabilities and/or medical/mental health conditions and their impact affecting students.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to students with disabilities and/or medical/mental health conditions.
5. Demonstrated skills in negotiation and problem solving.
6. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
7. Demonstrated crisis intervention skills.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Three years' experience working with students with disabilities and/or medical/mental health conditions in a postsecondary setting.
2. Experience in evaluating documentation to verify disability and/or medical/mental health condition and determining eligibility for reasonable accommodation.
3. Experience with assistive technology.
Work Hours
Core Work Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
2. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
3. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
