Job Summary
This position will develop and maintain the environment used for the management of IT endpoint devices and systems supported by The College of Business. The incumbent will also be responsible for researching future technologies and making suggestions as part of a strategy of continuous improvement and best practices.
The Systems Administrator and Technology Manager must have a technical knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, automation, and systems management tool such as System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), working with unattended software installation methods such silent commands and answer files.
As end-point devices are introduced in to and supported by the department, this position will learn and master deployment and management strategies for those platforms. Must be highly detail oriented and be knowledgeable mainstream applications. Work with fellow team members to create a 'people friendly' place to use technology across multiple devices and services.
The Systems Administrator and Technology Manager will work with the IT Director to coordinate workflow and priorities of the unit. Additionally, this position will serve as a backup to the IT Director and supervise technical staff in day-to-day operations.
The Systems Administrator and Technology Manager will coordinate with Technology Solutions as appropriate on campus wide technology initiatives and the information security program for policy and compliance.

The COB-IT unit primarily caters to the unique technology requirements of the College of Business. This involves managing endpoint computing systems, servers, applications, software, and networking tailored to the College's academic and administrative needs. Close collaboration with colleagues across the university ensures that students and faculty receive comprehensive technology support to facilitating teaching and learning.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$68,000-$72,000/year
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. At least seven (7) years of full time (or part time equivalent) work experience that included experience with each of the following:
-Automating BIOS/Firmware/Driver updates
-Troubleshooting computer components, printers, and monitors
-Group policy and Windows desktop administration and configuration
-Deployment of applications, software updates and computer management with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
-Windows Server administration, File, Print, MS SQL, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Four-year degree in Information Technology or Information Security or related area. This can be waived depending on experience.
2. Strong customer service orientation with a desire to help the College meet its teaching and research needs. Support programs consistent with our student-centered mission.
3. Experience in managing network users and permissions in an Active Directory Environment.
4. Course work or certification in Information Security
5. Experience supporting larger format inkjet printers, digital press, and multifunction printers, copiers, drivers and common maintenance procedures.
6. Experience supporting Adobe applications such as InDesign, Photoshop, Premier Rush, XD, font, and content libraries.
7. Experience supporting endpoint computing in Higher Education and student computer lab classrooms.
Work Hours
Core work hours: 8:00 - 4:30, occasionally will need to come in on off hours

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score.
