The Department of Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality is one of 13 departments within the Division of Student Affairs. It provides the campus community and guests with high-quality, efficient, and innovative event services and dining options in a variety of settings dedicated to accentuating and enhancing the campus experience in a diverse community.
This position is an integral part of our dining operations staff. Led by experienced culinary professionals, we offer staff the opportunity to work in newly-renovated facilities and are committed to using quality ingredients and processes.

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment.
Employees are paid for hours worked only and do not qualify for benefits through the University. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
- Dishwashing duties including pots and pans.
- General cleaning duties as assigned including sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
- Maintain and clean kitchen areas.
- Clean and operate dish machine and pulper.
- Take out garbage and recycling.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$17.96 per hour
Availability to work a variety of shifts and days off, up to 28 hours per week.
1. Previous food service experience preferred, but not required.
2. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work independently
3. Good communication skills
4. Good customer service skills
5. Ability to work in a team environment
6. Food Service Sanitation Certificate is beneficial but not required.

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
This position requires standing, walking, use of fingers and hands, reaching, lifting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, talking, hearing, speaking, and seeing. Ability to stand for an extended period of time without a significant rest period. The employee must frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. However, Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the University's supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
