Job Summary
A Business Analyst is responsible for working with the campus partners to understand their goals, objectives, processes, and requirements. This role will focus on process improvement and will play a crucial role in analyzing, evaluating, and improving the University’s operational processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and the overall user experience. Expertise in process mapping, facilitation, data analysis, and problem-solving will be instrumental in driving positive change and ensuring continuous improvement across various departments.
This position is primarily responsible for:
- Facilitates, communicates, and mediates through a variety of mediums and venues
- Plans a business analysis approach, activities, and deliverables based on project assignment
- Gathers information to create business cases, process maps, requirements, models, use cases, and other artifacts to communicate desired change
- Conducts thorough analysis of existing processes to identify areas of improvement and optimization
- Liaises between campus partner and technical team throughout project to ensure project outcomes meet stakeholder objectives.
- Performs functional testing to identify errors, assess quality assurance and implementation readiness
The Business Analyst will utilize an analytical mindset, facilitation skills, and virtual collaboration tools to help campus partners identify their goals and objectives and translate into functional and nonfunctional requirements and identifies the best way to design new processes and solve process-related problems. This role serves as a critical liaison between project teams and key University stakeholders and has a direct impact on the successful implementation of projects. This role will handle multiple projects simultaneously, therefore, time management and organizational skills must be excellent to ensure quality work is consistently delivered.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$55,000 - $80,000 annual
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree in business, management, information systems, technology, or a field related to the position
- Two years of professional business, financial, managerial, or technical work experience
- Experience communicating through interpersonal, written and presentation methods
- Experience with or awareness of business transformation and business process redesign to support IT system modernization
- Ability to:
a. work with stakeholders to understand current process and gather new requirements using a variety of techniques such as brainstorming sessions and structured process walk-through sessions
b. identify and clarify requirements using basic conceptual and logical process/data modeling techniques such as process flow charts, simple data flows, or workflows
c. create deliverables such as requirements documents, business process maps, use cases, and executive summaries through utilizing standardized templates, following specific processes, and applying best practices
d. analyze and synthesize large amounts of detailed information, quickly understand complex issues, and break information down into smaller, more manageable pieces
e. multitask and manage multiple deadlines and tasks that may be very different in nature to ensure on time work completion
f. work independently and in a team environment with excellent communication and collaboration skills
g. develop detailed process map, workflows, and diagrams to illustrate current state and future state processes. - Possess excellent documentation skills, including editing and proofreading skills
- Possess strong customer service skills along with a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality, and reliability
- Possess and demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills to assess situations, troubleshoot, and make recommendations from both strategic and tactical perspectives
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business, Information Systems, Technology, Communications, or a related field
- LEAN certified
- Six Sigma certified
- IIBA or PMI certification
- Demonstrated experience in software testing
- Agile BA experience
- Experience with higher education administrative systems
Work Hours
Core Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday; occasional weekend and evening hours as business needs dictate
