Title: Redbird EMS Administrative Assistant

Helps out with administering the Redbird EMS program and safety inspections. See below for responsibilities:
Administrative
1. Help with hiring and training new Redbird EMS employees
2. Update and maintain EMT/EMR Certification Checklist - Follow up with EMTs/EMRs on REMS employment requirements post-orientation
3. Make sure new hires have all the appropriate paperwork and are added to all University systems
4. Update and maintain REMS electronic personnel folders and contact list
5. Continually update REMS Policy and Procedure Manual and Venue Binders as needed
6. Assist with organization of mandatory meetings and/or training
7. Conduct review of medical reports with program coordinator
8. Send out information to all EMTs/EMRs about updates/changes to REMS and MCAEMS procedures
9. Update REMS Expense Summary
Gear Maintenance and Inspection
1. Maintain readiness of gear using Pre-Shift Checklists to replace used supplies and address gear malfunctions
2. Ensure all bags stay organized and are exact copies of each other in terms supply quantities and arrangement
3. Keep track of expiration dates for supplies and medications for all sets of gear
4. Exchange expired medication at Carle BroMenn Hospital
5. Notify program coordinator of expiring supplies that need to be ordered; replace expired supplies
6. Update Medication Reference sheet in med bags as needed per MCAEMS medication guide
7. Conduct MCAEMS and IDPH self-inspections for each venue/set of gear annually
CPR/AED Training
1. Teach BLS, Heartsaver CPR/AED, and First Aid classes as needed
2. Submit CPR training roster from classes to TC coordinator for eCard distribution
Inspections
1. Conduct basic inspections of safety equipment on campus
2. Maintain paperwork of inspections and upload to share drive
3. Help with fire safety testing and drills
Previous medical/EMS knowledge preferred.
8-16 hours per week, flexible between 8am and 4pm each day.
