The Department of Management and Quantitative Methods (MQM) is seeking applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position in Operations Management at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 16, 2022. Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in Operations Management, or a related field, from an accredited university. Senior ABDs may be considered if they are in the late stages of their program. (Note that candidates must have successfully defended their dissertation proposal prior to the campus visit.) Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
The new hire’s primary teaching responsibilities will be courses in Operations Management and Data Analytics, at the undergraduate and graduate levels, along with other Management courses as needs dictate. Faculty in MQM typically teach either a 3-3 load (with sections capped at 35) or a 2-2 load (with one section capped at 35 and the other capped at 95). Classes during the academic year are delivered face-to-face. Prior to tenure, the annually renewable contract is from August 16 to May 15; the same dates apply for post-tenure appointments.
The department also offers programs in HRM, Organizational Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, and International Business. Faculty in the department have published in top tier journals, such as JMS, Org Sci, AMJ, SMJ, AMR, JOM, JAP, ET&P, JBV, JIBS, Technovation, ISR, and R&D Management, among others.
