In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer sessions, the School of Theatre, Dance and Film maintains a pool of qualified persons interested in part-time, non-tenure-track teaching positions.

Serve as a Daily Rate Substitute Teacher, providing academic classroom instruction for students in the absence of the regular teacher. Metcalf Laboratory School is a service unit of the College of Education of Illinois State University. It offers a comprehensive program of instruction for 400+ students in grades PreK-8. Metcalf is a caring community of life-long learners. Its mission is to act as a model for educational methods and theory in support of the preparation of future educators, conduct educational research, offer quality educational programs for children, and disseminate information to others in the educational profession.

The Assistant Swimming Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Swimming/Diving Coach with all aspects of a competitive Missouri Valley Women’s Swimming/Diving program. The Assistant Swimming Coach will not only assist with coaching specific swimming skill but also assist with all phases of the recruitment of highly skilled prospective student-athletes from identification and evaluation through signing them to athletics scholarships, etc. The Assistant Swimming Coach is responsible for conducting all of their duties and activities with integrity and within NCAA rules, Missouri Valley Conference rules, the State of Illinois requirements, Illinois State University and Athletics Department regulations.

The Assistant Diving Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Swimming/Diving Coach with all aspects of a competitive Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Swimming/Diving program. The Assistant Diving Coach will functionally be the Head Diving Coach for the program and not only assist with coaching specific diving skills but also assist with all phases of the recruitment of highly skilled prospective student-athletes from identification and evaluation through signing them to athletics scholarships, etc. The Assistant Diving Coach is responsible for conducting all of their duties and activities with integrity and within NCAA rules, Missouri Valley Conference rules, Illinois State University, and the Athletics Department regulations.

Illinois Shakespeare Festival is seeking to fill several part-time seasonal positions in the front-of-house operations for the Festival's 2026 season.

Candidate will be responsible for teaching Social Science courses which may include AP and dual credit courses. The Honors Program is looking for engaging and motivated Instructional Assistant Professors to teach the Honors Mindset Seminar (HMS). HMS is a 1-hour class designed to introduce first-year Honors students to the Honors Program and to help them develop an Honors Mindset. This is a part-time, non-tenure-track appointment. The Illinois Shakespeare Festival exemplifies a long-established tradition of professional theater devoted to performing the plays of William Shakespeare.

The prop shop imagines, designs, procures, constructs, and/or refurbishes items that are required by each theatre production being performed at the festival.
