The Safe Redbirds Ambassador is a student employee position that assists in a wide variety of activities designed to assist in maintaining and maturing the University’s emergency preparedness and safety programs. The SUPERCHARGE grant is looking for an employee who can translate materials from English to Spanish and who can provide guidance and troubleshooting assistance for high school students and teachers at four Chicago Public Schools locations.

On-Air Student Hosts/Announcers host WGLT programs, either live or with pre-recorded breaks (voicetracks), under the supervision of WGLT's Program Director. Student Hosts/Announcers will use a combination of pre-built elements to build scripts for each break, then deliver that break in-studio. The position will be regularly evaluated ("airchecked") to ensure quality control.

The On-Air Student Newscaster will prepare, record, and properly distribute newscasts that air on WGLT or WCBU. This position works closely with the WGLT and WCBU news directors or their designees to make good story decisions during newscast preparation.

MASAI mentors are peer leaders trained to assist first-time-in-college (FTIC) students who graduated from a Charter School Network or College Preparation program with their personal and academic transition from high school to ISU.
