Karin L. Bone Athletic Study Center is a division of the Illinois State Athletic Department that provides services and programs designed to assist students with their academics.
The English Education program invites applications for a nine-month non-tenure track Lecturer or Instructional Assistant Professor (depending on qualifications). This position will provide instruction within the English Education sequence, which will include teaching introductory English Education and methods coursework and fieldwork as well as supervising teacher candidates and student teachers. Coursework in the major develops content knowledge and discipline-specific pedagogy informed by current theory and research in the field as well as diverse clinical experiences. We invite teacher candidates to enact socially just English Language Arts teaching and learning, and our cohort model engages teacher candidates in a professional learning community that sustains ongoing reflection, inquiry, and advocacy.
This position offers a 4-4 teaching load with a competitive salary, benefits, and a renewable contract. The selected candidate will work closely with and under the direction of the Director of English Education and must also be able to work effectively with students, professionals in the field, and other staff and faculty in the program.
Teach applied voice to undergraduate and graduate students, teach other related courses such as Opera Practicum and Diction (French, German, Italian overview); conduct regular studio master classes. Other duties may be assigned by the School of Music.
This position relates directly to new student outreach with emphasis on the recruitment and matriculation of high school and community college students in the Chicagoland area. Incumbent primarily focuses on an assigned recruitment territory in the Chicagoland area, though recruitment events will occur on-campus in Normal, and may include locations across the state of Illinois, and/or out-of-state. The position performs extensive student follow up, representing the university at recruitment events such as high school visits, college fairs, parent nights, and virtual recruitment events. Daily travel, presentations, and evening and weekend work is expected.

This position serves as administrative support to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Assistant Vice President for Business Operations, and as needed for additional staff in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
This position fills a vital role in providing high-level agronomic conditions for ISU’s Weibring Golf Club. Our team provides an enjoyable atmosphere with a wide variety of tasks, the majority being outdoors.
