Job Summary
The Department of Marketing in the College of Business at Illinois State University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track marketing professor position at the Assistant (or Advanced Assistant) Professor level to begin August 16, 2026.
The Department invites applications from candidates with research and teaching interests in Sales Management. We are seeking highly qualified and motivated candidates to contribute to the Department by conducting impactful research and teaching courses in Personal Selling and Sales Management, with the flexibility to teach additional marketing courses as needed.
The successful candidate will (a) contribute to curriculum development that emphasizes critical thinking, experiential learning, and high levels of student engagement, (b) establish and maintain a strong record of scholarly publication in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals, (c) collaborate effectively as an active member of a collegial and dedicated faculty team; and (d) demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing the Marketing program through meaningful engagement with industry professionals.
The Department of Marketing is positioned within the College of Business, which has undergraduate and graduate programs accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The business school is housed in the 118,000 square foot, state-of-the-art State Farm Hall of Business. The Department serves nearly 1,000 undergraduate students through its Marketing degree program, which offers specialized sequences in General Marketing, Professional Sales, Advanced Marketing Analytics, and Integrated Marketing Communication. At the graduate level, the Department provides marketing coursework for students in the M.B.A. program and offers a newly launched, STEM-designated Master of Science in Marketing Analytics. This includes an accelerated sequence and a 4+1 program option for qualified students. Additionally, the Department offers both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Business Education. Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$145,000–$155,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications
Candidates for the position must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. degree in Marketing by the position start date from an AACSB accredited business school. A.B.D.’s will be considered. Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
