Job Summary
The Student Employment Experience (SEE) Program Coordinator will fully develop and maintain the next evolution of the SEE Program. The SEE Program will provide more than a job to student employees in the Office of Technology Solutions – it is a fully supported and guided journey from hire to graduation that is focused on student success. Along the way, students will gain valuable hands-on experience in the technology subjects of their choice, along with certifications to validate that experience for their future employer.
The Office of Technology Solutions provides the technology services that faculty, staff and students rely upon daily – everything from the campus network to Canvas. Tech Solutions relies upon a large group of talented students to assist in supporting those services, and it will be the job of the SEE Program Coordinator to ensure that students are continuously trained and ready to assist.

Technology Solutions provides information, technology products, and services for the administrative and business functions of Illinois State University. Through our Technology Support Center and our highly trained staff, Technology Solutions looks to improve the campus experience for all students, faculty, staff, and the rest of the campus community.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$23.08 - $30.76 per hour
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. A total of one year (12 months) of education, training and/or work experience in an business, management, information technology, human resources, communication, or other related field.
3. Experience with such supervisory activities as hiring, interviewing, performance management and coaching
4. Experience developing and delivering training to others
5. Working knowledge of one or more of the following IT disciplines and the skills that coincide with them:
• Endpoint Support
• Help Desk
• Cybersecurity
• System Administration
• Networking/telecommunication
• Technical Analysis
• Project Management
• Business Analysis
• Web development
• Database administration
• Application/integration development
• Data science/analytics
6. The following skills and abilities:
a. excellent organizational, scheduling and coordination, and verbal and written communication skills
b. ability to arrange efficient systems to track multiple variables
c. ability to multitask and self-manage assigned projects and daily tasks
d. proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of constituencies
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience providing technical support as part of an IT team
2. Experience supervising student employees in a University setting
3. Marketing and communications experience
4. Experience in career development and placement
5. Passion for student success and desire to support student employees in achieving their career goals
Work Hours
8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday; weekend or after-hours work may be required to support change management or disaster recovery.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
